1) Hey BHDC, maybe you can do a new post about the threats and harassment that Free Republic and many other Web sites are getting over Larry Sinclair’s story: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2055994/posts
2) How Gawker Media screens its interns.
3) Any news on Leola McConnell? I hope she is alive and doing well. I believe her and find her “stories” to be credible. What is the latest on her? Where can I get a copy of her books if she had time to write them?
4) John Cusack to appear in Hustler: “Actor and producer John Cusack finally unleashes his outrage at the Bush Administration and their disastrous failures: ‘The right-wing uses the aesthetics of authoritarianism. American patriotism is the cover for what they do.” In the context of his most recent movie, War, Inc., a dark comedy that skewers the Iraq War and American capitalism and greed, Cusack discusses with Hustler the goals, motivations and stresses of writing and producing such a film. The controversial War, Inc. was an international success starring Dan Aykroyd, Ben Kingsley, Joan Cusack, Hilary Duff and Cusack himself. War, Inc. will be available on DVD October 14 at retailers nationwide.” Related: recent interview.
5) Seriously. You had DCist and Wonkette on the ropes and now you’re doing weekly posts about Larry fucking Sinclair? Are you going to relaunch the blog, or is it going to stay like this?

This well-reasoned question just came in from a person who is quite familiar with the Deborah Jeane Palfrey case, and its implications.
Look, I understand this has all been unpleasant for you, but why do you and Mr. Cook insist on fixating on the salacious-side of this story? I mean, honestly, why not leave your desk, drive over to Alexandria, Va., and go talk to Ronald Roughead? While you’re at it, why not track down some leads on the people prosecuting Ms. Palfrey? In addition, you need to check on the SAIC connection and lobbying…oh, never mind. Ms. Palfrey stands behind my assertions that you guys wanted salaciousness and that when it didn’t pan-out with Donaldson, the problems began. Both you and Mr. Cook are a major disappointment, along with Larisa of Rawstory, Huffpo, and the rest of the media. All you’re doing is making a site that’s a copy of all the same problems the MSM currently embodies. Change the focus, and you might be doing something, otherwise, it’s just gossip. However, I was impressed with the Leola McConnell story, though I think she’s got a lot of proving to do with her story — if she’s still alive.
Our response:
You make excellent points about the media, [NAME REDACTED]. The point in this situation is that Donaldson’s number IS in Palfrey’s records. I’ve always maintained that the bigger story here is that ABC News likely killed a larger story once it was determined that possibly more than one of their reporters appeared on the list. Radar has managed to muddle that aspect of the story because they were angry that Big Head DC did its own independent reporting to confirm that part of the story — with sources that they couldn’t possibly have spoken with. Just because they asked me for help does NOT mean I was beholden to report a story for them. Their pontifications about Big Head DC’s scoop makes it more difficult for people to see the problematic way ABC covered this story. And that’s a shame.

Some who are hearing the news of the disappearance of dominatrix Leola McConnell, who claims to have had a bisexual affair with President George W. Bush in the 1980s, are drawing parallels to the case of a woman who filed a 2002 lawsuit against the president, claiming he raped her, and who was subsequently found dead in 2003.
“Margie D. Schoedinger of Missouri City, Texas, filed a lawsuit against George W. Bush in Fort Bend County Court,” according to a report from the Fort Bend Star. ”In her suit she alleged, ‘race based harassment and individual sex crimes committed against her and her husband.’”
The case never went to court because Schoedinger was soon found dead in her home with a single gunshot wound to the head. Women rarely use guns when committing suicide.
Jackson Thoreau, a journalist who talked to Schoedinger about her case before her death, has reported that she was surprised her rape allegations hadn’t been covered more in the mainstream press because “it is true…People have to be accountable for what they do, and that’s why I’m pursuing it.”

News is coming in to Big Head DC regarding the disappearance of Leola McConnell, the swarthy bodybuilding dominatrix who claims to have had a bisexual affair with President George W. Bush in the 1980s. As we told you on Tuesday, several people who regularly communicate with her have told us they have not heard from her in a few weeks, and attempts by us to reach her have been unsuccessful to date.
Now, one of her acquaintances gives us this update:
Apparently a former client turned close friend was killed and she went to retrieve some evidence he left for her and turned up missing herself. It could be related to the book.
While writing her series of books called Lustful Utterances, McConnell had told friends recently that she was growing increasingly concerned that her allegations about politicos who had used her services would somehow cause her harm.
In May, Big Head DC revealed that lawyers for Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the alleged “DC Madam” considered calling McConnell to be as an expert witness to testify on Palfrey’s behalf in her case versus the government.
